Our costs depend on the services you need and the product(s) you want to source. There is no initial investment required, however we do charge a fee which is refundable with the 1st delivery.

This is a tough question to answer without further information. Our costs depend upon the services and / or products you want to source. Trading can be through a standard trading structure or with an open-book agreement.
After an initial consultation and some investigation on the project we charge a deposit which is refundable with the 1st order.

Our costs depend on the services you need and the products you want to source. We only proceed if you can make sufficient profit after all costs. We do charge a fee within this which is fully dependent on what you need us to do; in some cases we can cover our costs in other ways such as by acting as wholesaler.
For us to be successful we make sure that you take most of the profit on each project. We rely on repeat business and recommendations and our total profit comes as a result of trade volume.

1. We are dedicated to sourcing, which makes us more efficient in the procurement process
2. Because we have the structure to import from companies in the Far East, which don’t have export licences, we are able to buy at the best prices and avoid a ‘middle-man’.
3. Large companies importing for their own use, require a significant internal structure: By using our own structure, with our own Far East staff, office and warehouse facility, we are able to offer a complete service with reduced overheads.

We won’t tie you into something you don’t want. Our business is successful because we provide options to our customers that help them improve their profits. We don’t proceed or continue if our customer isn’t making a good margin. As our current customers will tell you, repeat orders deliver further savings to them. We make a profit by making a small amount on lots of projects. We do however need to protect our interests as very often our costs aren’t covered unless our customers place several repeat orders, this can be done in several ways depending on your requirements.

Every sourcing project is different especially as we offer a flexible service making this is a tough question to answer without further information from you (please see “what we do”).
To give you an idea of timescales:
- if you are after a product that is already in manufacture, say in mainland China, without any restrictions on it and you are in a hurry it can be air freighted to you in a week.
- If you need a bespoke complicated multi-factory product designed from scratch it could take 9 months.
- Containers generally take about a month to ship from China plus any other transportation/ logistical requirements.
- Most new products take 4 to 5 months (inc shipping)
- Most repeat orders of container loads of stock take 6 to 8 weeks (inc shipping and manufacture)

All aspects of the above vary dependent on the products and which countries they come from/go to or through. In some countries the customs officials have more freedom over how they decide to prioritise which can result in delays if you don’t know the regional customs or don’t have the appropriate contacts. There are also other rules and regulations and variable rates that have to be managed and appropriately budgeted for. Not just in the UK do rates get changed at short notice to suit current policies such as anti-dumping, protectionism and tax reasons.

Our business was founded on sourcing and wholesale in 1997 by our current Managing Director who already had a background in sourcing. Two of our other directors have been involved in the whole process of sourcing, wholesale and retail for their own businesses since the late 1980’s before joining our family business. In most cases the factories we work with are already up to speed with the relevant requirements in the areas they produce goods for (and supply too) although we do check whatever is necessary. If you are in a very specialist area we may need more guidance to make sure we know the standards you need to meet. Some products we currently deal with require clean room manufacture and micrometer precision.
We will arrange pre-production samples for approval and or visits to the factory by us and also yourselves if you wish.
Once we have validated the standards needed and got them signed off we can arrange appropriate numbers of our own QC visits to the factories and also, if appropriate, independent testing of the products involved and samples to you. The service we provide will be tailored to your needs.
We have helped a number of factories get their QC processes and procedures and properties up to standard before manufacture has commenced. Working with factories in this way has gained us loyalty and better pricing for the right quality.

We can deal with any currency and although we mostly trade in £ and $ we do have other accounts and frequently buy in RMB.

Our first step is to establish what our customer/potential customer wants and how we can help. Usually we will do this in an initial briefing meeting which allows us to collect the information we need about your requirements and you get the chance to evaluate us. (See also "what we do")
Depending on what is involved, and assuming you want us to carry on, we are likely to make some initial FOC enquiries on your behalf to see whether your project is viable.
Assuming the project is viable we will then agree with you how it is taken forward and which aspects of our service you need. At this stage we are likely to want some financial commitment, usually in the form of a deposit refundable against our first fee invoice (unless we agree to wholesale for you).
Most factories require a 30% deposit prior to manufacture – some require more, especially if they don’t know you and if it is a new product. Sometimes there are also machine charges required at that stage.
The next step is likely to be payment of balance prior to shipping (which is where our presence in China allows us to check that your product is right for you against the approved pre-production sample). This usually involves currency changes.
Product transportation is next and depends where it is coming from and going to and how (i.e. land and/or sea and/or air).
We would usually invoice you at this stage for our fees and any miscellaneous costs such as bank transfers, transportation costs, customs etc.
At any stage there might be currency exchange matters and there might be order consolidation and/or splitting to minimise cash exposure.
You might need us to arrange warehousing, or other logistical matters after completion of the initial project. We usually separate this from the sourcing project and invoice depending on need.

For some customers we do provide a wholesale service. The benefit of us helping you deal with factories direct is that it brings your costs down. We have been able to do wholesale for some of our customers and sometimes we have helped a customer enter an arrangement with others to share the sourcing so all make a good profit. If the idea you have is easily marketable we can do exclusive wholesale or restricted wholesale however, the more risk we take on and the more cashflow we have to tie up the more it will cost you. We will only do it if we can all make a profit.

As far as practicable we tailor our services to your needs. We are easily able to arrange part containers to be shipped with other goods for ourselves or other customers. We can also arrange warehousing in China (or elsewhere) so you don’t have to pay duty until you need the goods.

There is no fixed rule to this; it will very much depend on lots of things including the price you want to pay, when you need it, what it takes to make it, if it can be done as joint order with us or someone else.

All containers have a seal with a unique reference number. We can arrange for our representative to be there as the container is loaded, to take pictures so we know what is on it and to take a picture of the seal so the reference is clearly visible. The port authorities also check.

Alongside our sourcing operation we do sell a limited range of products both as wholesale and retail although we are very careful about our pricing and who we do what for. Not treading on toes is important to our businesss. We are careful to ensure that we don’t undermine our customers or supply to others who might as far as practicable. Our target market are businesses that generally want sufficient quantities or own designs to warrant buying straight from factories.
